PW1100 engines

Those who have seen PW1100 engines would have also seen these 3 holes at 8 equally distant locations.
These are called wear holes/rubstrip wear holes.
These holes help in detailed inspection of fan blade rubstrip for wear. There are two methods defined in AMM for the same.
One method is measurement of fan blade tip clearance using a clearance gauge.
Other method is rubstrip wear hole depth measurement using a special gauge.
